My Journey to Sustainable Activewear
HOLA! I am Cath, Welcome to HOLABOLLA - my brainchild and attempt to make fashion sustainable, activewear fashionable, and this amazing planet we call "Earth" a better place for all species!
Did you know,
An average consumer throws away 70 pounds (31.75 kilograms) of clothing per year. Globally we produce 13 million tons of textile waste each year 95% of which could be reused or recycled.
In addition to all this, the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. It is a major contributor to water pollution, plastic pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. This is why what we wear matters!
Ever felt like you could not resist the temptation to click BUY NOW on that pair of $39.90 jeans? Which ended up being hidden in your wardrobe for years before you donate them? Trust me I am equally guilty, definitely not proud of that either.
There has to be a better way of making ourselves feel great in a piece of garment, that did not come from as a result of CO2 emissions.
HOLABOLLA was born in 2021 to fill that gap! I pride myself at producing ethical garments by manufacturers that truly look after their workers. Our fabric is verified by GRS (Global Recycled Standard), click here to read more about it. The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is an international standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled input. It is a full product standard that dictates social and environmental best practices, as well as chemical restrictions for fabrics. Household names such as Nike, Adidas, Puma work with only GRS-certified fabric suppliers for their eco-friendly collections.
Sounds like a dream come true to me!
